Finally getting back to the old blog. I've been feeling bad about not updating this (in months!) but honestly life has been pretty normal around here. And while perhaps there are some out there who would be interested in my "normal" life, I find no real joy in blogging about my addiction to White Collar or going to work 5 days a week. That's too bland for me, I'd rather share the interesting, the exciting and the notable parts of my life.
A perfect example: Last Friday, around 1:00am I woke up with stabbing pains in my abdomen. When they wouldn't go away for almost 2 hours I finally woke up my mom and we went to the hospital to have it checked out. The diagnosis was: Appendicitis!
For those of you who have not had appendicitis, it is like cramps, only 50 times worse and doesn't go away. I researched it (thanks WebMD), and there really isn't a cause for appendicitis, which is an inflammation of the appendix. If left unchecked, your appendix can rupture and the chemicals inside it can poison you from the inside out. So as soon as doctors see something wrong, they remove your appendix, because it really doesn't do anything.
Soo Friday I spent in the hospital going through tests and then undergoing surgery. It's incredile, they did a whole surgery and removed an organ, and all I have to show for it is 3 small incisions! But man, do those incisions hurt! Since they have to cut through your abdominal muscles so it took me until Tuesday night to be able to pull myself into a sitting position on my own and I still can't twist without it hurting.
I was released from the hospital Saturday evening and since then have been crashed out in my living room trying to keep the cats from jumping onto my lap. I think they're mad at me.
Hopefully I'll be back to feeling like myself by the end of the week, everything seems to be healing really well. Two of my cuts are looking great, and my belly button is turning really beautiful colors from the bruising!
Hopefully my next post will be a happier post!
